Discover Agriculture on the Farm

Urban and rural Manitobans are invited to explore farming and food production at the popular “Discover Agriculture on the Farm” open house on Sunday, September 20, kicking off Farm and Food Awareness Week in Manitoba. Visitors can engage in conversations with local Manitoba farmers, take a wagon ride to visit pigs, dairy cows, broiler chickens, and laying hens, and explore crops grown on the prairies.

The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bruce D. Campbell Farm and Food Discovery Centre, just 15 minutes south of Winnipeg on Highway 75 with a variety of hands-on activities.

This year marks the 12th annual Farm and Food Awareness Week (September 20–25, 2026) across Manitoba and this year’s theme is ‘Community and Agriculture: Growing Together’.

The theme recognizes that agriculture and communities are interconnected. It highlights the role agriculture plays in supporting local economies, creating opportunities for future generations, and bringing people together. It also recognizes the importance of supporting Manitoba producers and buying local.

“Discover Agriculture on the Farm” offers visitors a unique opportunity to visit a working farm and build out their fall harvest bucket list while learning more about the diversity of food production in Manitoba and the importance of agriculture to our provincial economy.
