2026 Fall District Meeting Wrap Up

Manitoba Beef Producers fall 2026 district meetings have wrapped up in the odd-numbered districts where director elections were required. Producers were also able to attend the all-districts virtual meeting.

Thank you to the Hon. Ron Kostyshyn, Minister of Agriculture for attending the District 11 meeting in Ashern and for engaging with producers on topics such as livestock inspection and predation challenges. Interlake-Gimli MLA Derek Johnson also came out to that meeting. Attending the District 9 meeting were Lakeside MLA Trevor King and Lac du Bonnet MLA Wayne Ewasko. Producers value the opportunity to engage with elected officials about various matters affecting the beef sector.

MBP extends its thanks to the representatives from Manitoba Agriculture, Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC) and various watershed districts for taking in the meetings and sharing information with producers.

Dr. Mary-Jane Orr of Manitoba Beef & Forage Initiatives was a feature presenter at the meetings, and she received many questions and feedback about various types of research MBFI is undertaking.

MBP would also like to thank the various businesses that helped sponsor the meals or who provided door prizes, as well as the caterers who served the delicious beef meals.

Director election results are as follows:

• District 1 – Tyler Fewings was elected for a second two-year term.
• District 3 – Daniel Elias was elected, replacing Andre Steppler who is wrapping up his terms on the board.
• District 5 – Lyndon Beswitherick was elected, replacing Steven Mans who is wrapping up his terms on the board.
• District 7 – Allan Nykoliation was elected, replacing Tyler Fulton who is wrapping up his terms on the board.
• District 9 – Trevor Sund was elected to serve his final two-year term.
• District 11 – Arvid Nottveit was elected to serve his final two-year term.
• District 13 – Matthew Goudie was elected for a second two-year term.

The incoming MBP board of directors for 2027-28 will be ratified at MBP’s 48^th Annual General Meeting which will take place February 10-11, 2027  at the Birchwood Inn in Winnipeg. We look forward to seeing you there!
