MBP Announces 2025-26 Scholarship Recipients
Manitoba Beef Producers (MBP) is pleased to announce the 2025 recipients of its $1,000 scholarship award for students pursuing a field of study related to agriculture or acquiring a skilled trade or pursuing a career that would be beneficial to the rural economy.
Addison Bruce – pursuing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba
Ffion Devonald – pursuing business at Dakota College (Bottineau)
Mae Fulton – pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) at the University of Manitoba
Kathryn Gillis – pursuing a Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba
Lainie Muir – pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Soil Science) at the University of Saskatchewan
April Steppler – pursuing a diploma in Agriculture at the University of Manitoba
“The board and staff at MBP are delighted to recognize the children of beef producing families across Manitoba who are pursuing post-secondary education. Congratulations to future leaders Addison, Ffion, Mae, Kathryn, Lainie, and April and we wish them all the very best in their studies,” remarked Carson Callum, General Manager, Manitoba Beef Producers.
The application process involves preparing an essay or video submission discussing the topic, “What the beef industry means to my family, my community and Manitoba.” The applications are judged blind by a review committee comprised of MBP staff and directors.
Two of the written essays were published in the November edition of Cattle Country, while the third was submitted as a video essay. The remaining three written essays will be published in the December edition of the newspaper.
