CLASSIC HOMEMADE BEEF BURGERS WITH COLESLAW

Ingredients:
Burger
-650 g ground sirloin
-1/2 medium onion, diced finely
-3 cloves garlic, crushed
-1 egg
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 tsp pepper
-1 tsp oregano
-1/2 tsp paprika
-1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Coleslaw
-3 cups shredded cabbage
-2 cups shredded carrots (2 carrots)
-3 tbsp olive oil
-1 ½ tbsp white wine vinegar
-1 clove of garlic, crushed
-1/2 tbsp grainy dijon mustard
-1/2 lemon
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/4 tsp ground pepper
Directions:
Burgers
- Preheat barbecue to 550 degrees
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onions, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, paprika and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well with clean hands.
- Portion out meat into 6 medium size balls and form a patty with your hands or use a flat plate to press down patties.
- Grill patties for 5 min on each side (depending on thickness of patties) and serve with brioche buns and toppings of your choice.
Coleslaw
- In a large bowl, add shredded cabbage and carrots.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk olive oil, white wine vinegar, garlic, mustard, lemon, salt and pepper.
- Drizzle dressing over salad and mix. Option to add red onions and fresh herbs to slaw.
